Exmouth Duck pond is neither a pond nor can I say I have ever seen a duck there.  It is a great flat water spot for kitesurfing and windsurfing alike. This is where we run both our kitesurfing and windsurfing lessons. 

 

Tides: -

 

The duck pond only works around 2 hours either side of high tide, any other time it is empty of water 

 

 

 

 

 

Wind directions: -

 

                           A north westerly wind works best for the Duck pond as the wind                              travels down the estuary        

 

                           Northerly works well but can be slightly gusty due to the land. 

 

 

                          A westerly can work but tends to be gusty as the wind comes over                           the hils

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Launching and Landing:

 

For beginners its best to get down early and launch from the sand.

 

More experienced kiters can launch from the grass at the top and walk down the slipway.

In the winter there is no kiteing past the yellow boys as this is reserved for the ducks.
