Windsurfing The Bluff

The Bluff is a top wave spot situated at the entrance to the River Hayle. This spot is best sailed in more westerly winds, with south-west giving a perfect cross-offshore, however this spot does need some swell to make it work. In a big swell it is possible to score multiple bottom turns each wave.

Each year we host PlymExe alongside Plymouth Windriders, one of the three events on the SWA Puravida Wave Tour (others are Cardiff Wave and Rhosneigr) and it is typically hosted here. This spot is great for a variety of levels of wavesailors from competent to competitive.

Best at low to mid-tide, and if the swell is small head further north for a nice beachbreak.
