The weekend kicked off nice and early Saturday morning with an epic game of car Tetris. Managing to fit 4 people and there excessive kit into Geordies polo. To alert everyone to the fact that we were rad, the wakeboard were strapped to the top of the car. Not only did this make us look cool but had the added bonus that they made the car sound like a small prop plane. The 2.5 hour journey soon became a 4 hour trip due to numerous pit stops for Geordies bladder and board re-arranges. Eventually we made it down to JB ski in Surrey.
As soon as we got there our competitors headed straight out onto the water for some practice.
This was followed by some well-earned food and some rugby. A bar tab was opened and which could only mean one thing, things escalated quickly !
After some sub-zero camping it was competition day. Up first was Naomi in the women’s B class. Naomi shredded hard throwing down some of her biggest moves, kitting some of the biggest sliders and going huge off the kickers. Her huge halfcab back roll attempt in front of the judges definitely got her noticed.
Next was Geordie in the men’s B, this was the biggest category with some fierce competition. Geordie put down some solid runs, throwing some of the biggest airs of the comp and managing to put down his toe side 540.
Finally Jake battled it out in the men's A category. Nailing some huge airs of the kickers as well as some sweet air tricks.
Naomi cleared up in her category landing herself in 1st.
Geordie nailed it taking second.
And Jake smashed it taking home 3rd.
And Jo and Joash came 1st and second in the spectators comp ( probably)
