3... 2... 1... Kiting Lessons are go!

Kitesurfing. The best of all the sports there ever was and ever will be. Sure, wakeboarding and windsurfing are cool too, people go "Damn dude, that was gnarly!" when they see you. But all those who have seen the 2014/15 edit know that the only way something can be "inshredible" is if you go kiting!

Maybe that's why kiting lessons have been so popular this year? It's only been 2 weeks since our first kiting lessons went live in the club, and already we've had 13 people book onto their very first kiting lesson ever with your friendly neighbourhood Kiting Captain, as well as having had 16 people book onto water based lessons through our partners Exmouth Watersports!

Only 2 weeks, and all this incredible action already! So here's a glimpse into what you've been missing out on:

The first lesson saw 5 people who had never flown kites step up to the challenge and find out the answer to the question "How the cluck do we learn to fly a kite when there is no wind?!". They quickly discovered that the answer "Run backwards...?" was not a joke. Before I knew it, they were doing their figure of eights and sin waves (sorry, there's maths in kiting!) whilst running backwards accross a rugby pitch, grinning the whole time!

The second lesson for 4 more complete beginners was fortunately a little windier. But don't get me wrong, running backwards was still involved! This session was also in the picturesque setting (well, almost!) sun that you can see in some of these pictures!

Everyone on these lessons has impressed me massively, coming in with a confident attitude and picking up the skills incredibly quickly! They are now all ready to progress on to the water based lessons with Exmouth Watersports, and if they try to could be up and riding (probably better than I can!) before the end of the term. Rock on newbies!

SO! Why haven't you booked onto your first lesson yet? Well, they're booking up so quickly, maybe that's why! Or perhaps you're waiting until our first Student Kitesurfing Association event of the year, SKA Beginner's Weekend on the 30th October - 1st November? Whatever the reason, be sure to keep an eye on your emails for when the lessons are live, or make sure notifications are on for the Facebook group where we frequently advertise lessons too!

Kiting is going to get big this year. Don't miss out on it!

Our new kiter Jess is very fond of her new tail

(Jess really likes her new tail. Come kiting. We have plenty more tails just for you!)
